Hi Jan, The BILD XYZ arrows file just has xyz coordinates for the arrow endpoints. You can simply edit it to shift the coordinates (e.g. add 10 to each X-coord or Y or Z depending on where you want it). You can also make the whole thing bigger or smaller by changing the coordinates. Format described here: <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/formats/bild.html> Of course you could also move the BILD model separately from the structure model but you'd have to be very careful that you didn't rotate it or the arrows would not be pointing along the same axes as for the structure. i.e. right after opening the models (no scene rotation) you could translate one or other of the models with a translate mouse mode or the "move" command. Selective manipulation: <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/commands/ui.html#selective> "move" command with "models #N" moves only the specified models: <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/commands/move.html> I hope this helps, Elaine ----- Elaine C. Hello, how can I show the XYZ basis vectors somewhere next to my structure in ChimeraX? I found the .bild datei but I don't want the arrows in my structure, rather outside, next to it, like in Crystalmaker.
It would be really helpful to have the basis vectors to compare orientations with other images.
Thanks a lot. Best,
