Hi Sophie, I have no problem downloading 1.8, and no one else seems to be experiencing this problem -- somehow it's affecting only you! Consequently, I am going to open a ticket for this issue in our bug-tracking database so that the back-and-forth of tracking this down is taken off this mailing list.
