Hi Phil, Your "save" command is missing the "save" at the beginning. Also as explained in the help page, you cannot use pixelSize in addition to height/width, it is only one or the other. <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/commands/save.html#image> If using height/width, I personally only specify one or the other (usually width only) because I want the same aspect ratio as the current graphics window, and it will automatically do that if you just give one or the other. If you give 600 x 900 but your window shape is not 6:9, you will get something that is not the same as what is in the window, which is confusing. I hope this helps, Elaine ----- Elaine C. Hi Phil, Maybe you are looking at the Chimera help pages? Chimera and ChimeraX are different.
In ChimeraX, use menu: File... Save and then change the file type to the image format of choice (e.g. PNG image, TIFF image, whichever you wanted). Then there will be a place in the dialog to type in the size of the image (width and height). Size is in pixels. If you want 300 dpi (dots per inch, as in pixels per inch) you also need to know how many inches wide and high you intend the image to be. If 2 x 3 inches, then you need 600 x 900 pixels.
Also you can use the "save" command which has similar width and height options, again in the units of pixels.

I am using ver 1.6 of Chimerax. I want to save an image for print publication, so I want to save it as 300 dpi. I used the Snapshot icon from the toolbar and it saved a 72 dpi image. In the user guide, there is mention of a Save Image dialog. The guide sounds like I can make use the dialog to select the dpi. But, I cannot find the Save Image menu. Can someone point me to it and add any help/hints on save a 300 dpi image.
