Thank you, Elaine Meng, for a very quick response.

I have another question. I used to make movies by 1) saving positions 2) 'fly' multiple positions 3) record actions using the movie recorder.

In Chimera X, is there an equivalent of 'fly"?   Could you please give advice on how I can accomplish similar tasks in Chimera X?

I really love visuals in Chimera X and want to use this to make movies for my new project.

Thanks,

Raphael Park

Hi Raphael!
We’re glad you are enjoying ChimeraX!

The features you mention are available as commands (no graphical interfaces yet):

See the “view” command for saving and restoring positions (it can also act similarly to Chimera’s “focus” command)

...“movie” command for recording and encoding movie files; we don’t yet have saving and restoring scenes, though
<http://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/commands/movie.html>

…see also “making movies” summary page
<http://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/movies.html>

...“volume” command (almost exactly the same as in Chimera) for many volume-related actions including changing voxel size
<http://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/commands/volume.html>

Voxel size is in the “volume” command dimension and scale options, for example: volume #2 voxelSize 0.25
<http://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/commands/volume.html#dimensions>

I hope this helps,
Elaine
