Hi William, You can specify the location in the file pathname in the "save" command. You can also use the ChimeraX command "cd" to change the working directory before you use the "save" command if you don't want to include a pathname every time you save. For example, I'm on a mac so I could use ChimeraX commands: save /Users/meng/file.png ...or cd /Users/meng save file.png see help <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/commands/cd.html> <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/commands/save.html> The working directory location is remembered within the current use of Chimera but not if you quit and start it up again. To have a different working directory every time you use Chimera, you can put a "cd" command in your Startup commands in the Preferences. See: <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/preferences.html> <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/preferences.html#startup> I hope this helps, Elaine ----- Elaine C. Hi ChimeraX Team. Is there anyway to set the default location for the save command as somewhere other than desktop? Thank you
