Hi Roden,
There is no generic programmability in the ChimeraX command language.  You would have to resort to Python for that.  Some specific commands have limited builtin programmability.  For instance, the "perframe" command allows you to execute a series of commands where one or more arguments vary over (possibly different) numeric ranges.  The "open" command has a "forEachFile" argument that can execute a command script on a series of files.  But generically, no, the command language isn't programmable.
