Dear CykaZH, The slowdown is not our issue, could be many other factors such as your local network. Normally if you use the download page and you are not commercial (not a company), you should get the academic license displayed and you simply need to click "Accept" at the bottom of the page to continue the download: However, if the system is not showing the academic license, and instead it is asking for you to enter a commercial license key, it is because it detects you are downloading from a commercial site. Some people said that their VPN was causing this problem. To avoid the problem, first make sure to turn off your VPN first, or if that isn't the problem, try downloading from a different location (home instead of university, university instead of home, etc.) I hope this helps, Elaine ----- Elaine C. Dear ChimeraX Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek your assistance regarding the download of the latest version of ChimeraX. Currently, I am located in China, and the download speed for the software is extremely slow, even when using a VPN or an educational network. Additionally, when attempting to download via these methods, I encountered a page requiring a license, which prevented me from completing the download.
To ensure a smoother and more efficient setup process, I would like to kindly ask if it would be possible for you to send the latest version of ChimeraX in .exe format as an email attachment. This would greatly help me avoid the download speed issues and the license-related obstacles I am currently facing.
Thank you for your time and support. I truly appreciate your assistance and look forward to your response.
