Click on one of the download links for a specific installer (I don't know which operating system you use, but choose the correct one). Only then will you see the license text. You could try turning off your VPN before download, or downloading when you are a different location (home or work or university depending on what you already tried). if you still can't get the academic download page, then please check what network your computer is on and send us that information.

(3) Then you click the "Accept" button and it will start the download
If you are getting a commercial licensing page which is asking for license key (instead of the non-commercial download process shown above), it is because our system identifies your computer is coming from a commercial network. Some people said this is caused by their VPN. You could try turning off your VPN before download, or downloading when you are a different location (home or work or university depending on what you already tried). if you still can't get the academic download page, then please check what network your computer is on and send us that information.

Dear Muhammad, For academic download there is no license file to copy, save or upload. Most people can just download the software directly without problems, as outlined below. (1) You just go to the download page <https://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/download.html> The screenshot below shows how it looks for me since I am on a mac; it would be slightly different for linux or windows. (2) then you click the link for the file you want to download. For example, for me it could be "chimerax-daily.dmg" if I want the daily build. Then it shows the non-commercial (academic etc.) license in the webpage with an "Accept" or "Decline" button on the bottom. It looks like this (3) Then you click the "Accept" button and it will start the download If you are getting a commercial licensing page which is asking for license key (instead of the non-commercial download process shown above), it is because our system identifies your computer is coming from a commercial network. Some people said this is caused by their VPN. You could try turning off your VPN before download, or downloading when you are a different location (home or work or university depending on what you already tried). if you still can't get the academic download page, then please check what network your computer is on and send us that information. The screenshot below shows how it looks for me since I am on a mac; it would be slightly different for linux or windows.
(2) then you click the link for the file you want to download. For example, for me it could be "chimerax-daily.dmg" if I want the daily build. Then it shows the non-commercial (academic etc.) license in the webpage with an "Accept" or "Decline" button on the bottom. It looks like this
(3) Then you click the "Accept" button and it will start the download
If you are getting a commercial licensing page which is asking for license key (instead of the non-commercial download process shown above), it is because our system identifies your computer is coming from a commercial network. Some people said this is caused by their VPN. You could try turning off your VPN before download, or downloading when you are a different location (home or work or university depending on what you already tried). if you still can't get the academic download page, then please check what network your computer is on and send us that information.

Did you read the text? The first item of the list says (emphasis mine): "A non-exclusive, nontransferable, perpetual license is granted to the Licensee to install and use the Software for academic, non-profit, or government-sponsored research purposes." I know reading software licenses is not fun, but this one is pretty concise compared to how these things typically go. I find it puzzling that you are at the same time concerned about complying with the academic license and unwilling to read its text. I don't think I can help more than telling you to read through this page, which should answer all your questions.
