Hello, If I have more than one structure opened in ChimeraX and want to move them apart, can I do that? I see that I can move a structure model using 'right mouse' option, but not the structures. Chimera had the option to do this by deactivating a structure. Thanks! -chinthaka

Hi Chinthaka, Of course you can move models separately. As you mentioned, the default is to move everything together with the mouse. However, there are different "right mouse" modes available in the Right Mouse tab of the toolbar. There is a mode to move only the models with any part selected: icons look like water molecule with green outline and arrows, 5th and 6th from the left. One is translate selected models (+shift to rotate) and the other is rotate selected models (+shift to translate). OR, alternatively, there is a mode to move the model that you just clicked on, without having to select anything. That is the 7th from the left, again water molecule and arrows, but without green outline around the molecule. All of the modes in this toolbar are described in the Right Mouse help pate, along with pictures of their icons: <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/tools/mousemodes.html> I hope this helps, Elaine ----- Elaine C. Hi Elaine, I think I was not clear enough before. Let's say I have electron densities of two unit cells opened in ChimeraX. These are not models. I want to move each aside from the other. I don't think the 'right mouse' option works for that. Even after I just selected one unit cell, they both move when I try to move the selected. Is there a way to just move the structure that I selected? Hi Elain, Sorry, yes it worked when I used 5th option from left.
