Dear ChimeraX team, I have attached my cryo-EM map with C2 symmetry. The symmetry axis is shown with a yellow rod, not along the z-axis. How can I save a new map in ChimeraX with the symmetry axis along z? Many thanks, T

Hi Tianyang, You can resample the map on a 3D grid whose z-axis is aligned with the symmetry axis. I don't recommend doing this because resampling the map will degrade its quality (giving it effectively a little lower resolution). You can reduce the grid spacing to minimize that problem. This involves several ChimeraX commands to determine the symmetry axis, tilt the map, center it, resample it and save it. I give an example on the ChimeraX recipes web site: https://rbvi.github.io/chimerax-recipes/symbox/symbox.html Tom
