Hi Nour, A ChimeraX volume series requires that the maps all have the same grid size (e.g. 250 x 250 x 300). Also treating the maps as a series isn't useful unless they have the same intensity range since when you play through a volume series it uses the same threshold level for showing each member of the series. If your maps satisfy those two requirements then to open them as a series you can use ChimeraX command open mymap1.mrc mymap2.mrc mymap3.mrc vseries true or open mymap*.mrc vseries true If that is not your situation, either because map sizes are different or have different intensity scales, then you can instead use the ChimeraX mseries (model series) command which doesn't have any requirements about what the models are (they can be maps, or molecules, or ...). The drawback of the mseries commands is that it won't automatically keep the threshold levels for all the maps the same, or the coloring the same. I tried running 'vseries play' then listing the volumes individually, e.g. (vseries play #1,2,3) I tried grouping them and running vseries play again with the group's ID, but that also didn't work. Or is there a way to 'label' a group as a vseries so I can run that command, for example? I couldn't find a solution through my search.

The volumes were initially a group, but I had to flip them on the z-axis and that broke the series and resulted in separate individual volumes. Sometimes I also want to compare volumes that are not a series by playing them.
