Hi, In Chimera, there is a cellpack plugin to open a cellpack file. Is there any particular reason that ChimeraX doesn't have an equivalent function?
Hello, Actually it IS currrently in ChimeraX but deprecated for possible removal and not documented because the cellPACK website had few entries (maybe doesn't exist any more? I couldn't reach it today) and as far as we knew people weren't actively creating new ones. Because I'd cached a many-years-ago downloaded cellpack model in ~/Downloads/ChimeraX/cellPACK/, I'm able to use a ChimeraX command to "fetch" from the cellPACK database, which actually reopens that old, locally cached stuff: open HIV-1_0.1.6 from cellpack Maybe if you have previously downloaded cellPACK models you would be able to open them in the same way. I hope this helps, Elaine ----- Elaine C. Thank you, Elaine. Indeed, I don't see people creating new ones, but the viewers are still actively maintaining, apparently. The fetching still works on my computer with 1.11. I am interested, as I created an assembly that was too large in ChimeraX, so it would be nice to export it as a cell pack format to view in a faster viewer. H
