Hello, This python script was downloaded on UCSF CHIMERA page (https://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/trac/chimera/attachment/wiki/Scripts/surfvalues.py...), and running it on UCSF CHIMERA X will cause an error. UCSF CHIMERA X (https://rbvi.github.io/chimerax-recipes/) has not found the corresponding script. If I still want to achieve the function of this script (surfvalues.py) , what should I do? I tried that at UCSF CHIMERA, but the volume of the protein is too large for it. Best Wishes, FAYE

Hello FAYE, Chimera and ChimeraX are two different programs. As you have found, you cannot use a python script for Chimera in ChimeraX, or vice versa. Best wishes, Elaine ----- Elaine C. Meng, Ph.D. UCSF Chimera(X) team Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry University of California, San Francisco

Hi Faye, The script you wish to use to report the values at surface points used to color the surface with the Surface Color tool is not needed since that capability is built into ChimeraX. In the Surface Color panel (menu Tools / Volume Data / Surface Color), after you colored a surface for example by radius you can click the Options buttons and enable "Report value at mouse position" and it will then tell you the radius at any point you hover the mouse over for that surface. The exact same option is in Chimera also. Tom
