Hi everyone, Earlier I had sent a help request "Match Atoms." After looking in the online mail archive, I found that I received replies to my problem, but didn't get an email. How do I fix this? I accidentally sent the email again thinking it wasn't received... Hi Alex, Normally the person who responds should send the response to your individual address as well as the list address. I checked my "sent" folder and saw that yes, I included your individual email address when I responded:

Hi Alex, The Matchmaker tool and "matchmaker" command are for sequence-alignable biopolymer chains (peptides, RNA, DNA) and use only one mainchain atom per residue. When you enter "match" it is just recognized as a truncation of "matchmaker" so you get the same thing.
The command in ChimeraX to match any atoms of your choice in any kinds of molecules is "align" ... for example:
align #1:203@C19,C20,C21,C16,C17,O18 to #2:125@C2,C3,C4,C5,C6,O6
[... etc. ...]
If you are subscribed to the list you should get all messages sent to the list. If you are not subscribed, however, you are at the mercy of whoever sends the message as to whether they also send it to you individually. Our "contact us" page has a link to subscribe to the list, if that's what you want to do. I hope this helps, Elaine ----- Elaine C.
