dear all, I would like to color my structure (atoms) according to the LocalResolution of the map that the model is fitted in. There is a simple way to color a map according to the colors of the molecular model, but can it be done the other way around? best Artur =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Artur BIELA, PhD tel: +48-518-459-652 @: artur.biela@uj.edu.pl [cid:ced8e93e-4e29-47d8-b709-419b04837a3b] cryoEM faciliy manager SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Centre Jagiellonian University Czerwone Maki 98, 30-392 Kraków www.synchrotron.pl<http://www.synchrotron.pl/> https://synchrotron.uj.edu.pl/en_GB/linie-badawcze/cryo-em

Dear Artur, For coloring an atomic structure by local resolution values, I can think of one way, with the following steps: (1) assign the values of the local-resolution map (not the original map but the one with the local resolution in it) to the atoms, creating an atom attribute (2) color the atoms and/or ribbons of the atomic structure by the values of this new attribute However, this would evaluate the local resolution at the positions of the atoms, which would be different than at the positions of the original map surface vertices. Don't know if this is what you want to do or not. If it sounds OK to you, here is more detail on the steps: (1) use "measure mapvalues" command to assign the values from the local resolution map to the atomic structure <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/commands/measure.html#mapvalues> (2) use "color byattribute" command or the Render by Attribute graphical interface to color the atomic structure by the values of this new attribute <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/commands/color.html#byattribute> <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/tools/render.html> I hope this helps, Elaine ----- Elaine C.
