Problem with Snap Installation
I have had Chimerax.flatpack installed on by Debian Bookworm Platform. As a result of a system crash I was force to reinstall the OS. When I attempted a reinstallation on the New OS I got the following error: error: The application edu.ucsf.rbvi.ChimeraX/x86_64/master requires the runtime org.freedesktop.Platform/x86_64/22.08 which was not found Please advise. Thanks in advance. -- Stephen P. Molnar, Ph.D. https://insilicochemistry.net (614)312-7528 (c) Skype: smolnar1
Reinstalling the ChimeraX flatpak will install the dependencies as well. And you should grab the latest ChimeraX flatpak, if you haven't already, since it is essentially the same as the new 1.7 release. -- Greg On 12/19/2023 11:23 AM, Stephen P. Molnar via ChimeraX-users wrote:

Thanks for the quick response. I just downloaded the flat pack and got the same result. On 12/19/2023 03:06 PM, Greg Couch via ChimeraX-users wrote:

Hi Stephen, I’ve run into similar problems in the past so maybe the following will help. Make sure you have the flathub repository loaded as a ‘remote'. Thats where those common runtimes are downloaded from I believe. Running something like the following command should add it: `flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo` Hope that helps, Tom --- Tom Mulvaney PhD Student Centre for Structural Systems Biology (CSSB) Research Group of Prof. Dr. Maya Topf c/o DESY, Building 15 Notkestraße 85, 22607 Hamburg Germany

Just confirmed that if the flathub repo is not configured into flatpak, then trying to install the ChimeraX flatpak gives the "requires org.freedesktop.Platform..." error. See the instructions at https://flatpak.org for system-wide installations (in this particular case, https://flatpak.org/setup/Debian) or the instructions at https://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimerax/flatpak.html for a single user. -- Greg On 12/19/2023 12:58 PM, Thomas Mulvaney via ChimeraX-users wrote:
