Subject: Bioinformatics and Computational Staff Scientists at the University of Oklahoma

Dear Dr. Matthew Jacobson

We have two positions in bioinformatics and computational biology available at the Institute for Environmental Genomics, Department of Microbiology and Plant Biology, University of Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma, USA. We are looking for highly motivated computational scientists and bioinformaticians with strong background and experience in computation, bioinformatics, mathematics, statistics, environmental engineering, and theoretical ecology, and the development and/or applications of new algorithms and methods for big microbiome data analysis. Both positions are permanent, 12-month appointments supported by the University funds. Both positions will be focused on microbiome studies related to bioenergy, climate change, environmental science and human health. Individuals in both positions will participate in grant proposal writing as a PI, or Co-PI, and may hold adjunct faculty positions at relevant academic departments such as Microbiology and Computer Science (See attachment fo
r details).
