Subject: Attractive Statistical Genomics Faculty Position in Vancouver
Date: September 23, 2013 4:54:11 PM PDT
To: Jennifer Bryan <jenny@stat.ubc.ca>

The University of British Columbia has an exceptional opportunity for
a highly qualified researcher in the broad domain of statistical
genomics to launch a career as an Assistant Professor.  As described
in the attached advertisement, this position is backed by a Canada
Research Chair for the early career, and is supported as a hard-money
position afterwards.  The position is jointly backed by the
Departments of Statistics and Medical Genetics at UBC, and the
research would be based at the successful Centre for Molecular
Medicine and Therapeutics - a centre based on interdisciplinary
research collaboration.

The search is open, with flexibility for the top candidate to build a
successful research program in the area of their interest.  Research
space, training programs and computational resources are in place,
allowing the recruit to move rapidly.

In short, this is a great position.  We hope you will pass this
information along within the broad biostatistics community and
encourage top candidates to apply.

I would be pleased to communicate with anyone having questions about
the position.

Regards,

Jenny Bryan

P.S .The criteria for the Canada Research Chair restricts eligibility
to scientists within 10 years of receiving a Ph.D.  As the position
will include some teaching within the Department of Statistics,
applications must indicate formal training in a field of statistics.
