Hi,
I am looking for a postdoc for my lab in Genentech (in the beautiful San Francisco, CA), and I would appreciate it if you could circulate the opening to potentially interested candidates. The position is for four years and includes competitive salary (>$80k gross) and benefits - you can find more details
here.
Broadly speaking, in my lab we leverage AI methods to understand -omic data, with focus on scRNA-seq, *ISH, and spatial transcriptomics. Some topics of interest include identifying cell cell communication mechanisms, revealing spatial co-localization of cell types or gene programs, and predicting the outcome of perturbation assays. We address these topics using modern machine learning methods, such as training a convolutional neural network for extracting features from images, learning a latent representation for harmonizing different data modalities, using gradient boosting to forecast biological responses from medical records and so forth.
My lab is within Research Biology in Genentech which is very academic-like. Our environment is ideal either for landing an academic professorship or an industry job. I would be delighted to provide more information about how life is in Genentech.
The interested candidates can apply
here. Feel free to drop me a message so that I am aware of your application.
Ciao,
