Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to tell you about some exciting opportunities at the interface of the physical and biological sciences at U.C. San Diego. This is the second year of a major campus-wide initiative in quantitative biology (qBio). Following five successful qBio hires last year, there will be another cluster of hirings conducted across biology, physics,  chemistry, and bioengineering, as well as on-going searches for senior biophysics theory positions. We expect additional positions in complementary fields next year.

It is our goal to use these positions to assemble a dream team in quantitative biology, building on the vast base of biological research in the La Jolla basin, and a well established tradition of collaboration between the physical and biological sciences at UCSD.  We encourage you to pass this information to interested junior and senior colleagues to pursue these dreams together.
