Dear Andrej,

I am writing to ask your assistance in identifying talented and highly accomplished structural biologists with a desire to join our group as a postdoctoral fellow.

My lab is a multidisciplinary team, comprised of structural biologists, medicinal chemists, and cell biologists, committed to discovering and developing novel therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. We use fragment-based methods and structure-based design to discover small molecule inhibitors for highly validated oncology targets such as K-Ras, Mcl-1, and WDR5 (Please see: https://lab.vanderbilt.edu/fesik-lab/).

Postdocs in our group will have the opportunity to learn and apply cutting edge fragment-based methods and structure-based approaches to design analogs of hit molecules to improve binding affinities. The close collaborations between synthetic chemists, cancer biologists, and structural biologists in our group will provide excellent training in drug discovery in a team environment.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in NMR or X-ray crystallography with experience in the cloning and purification of proteins for structure determination. If you have a student that fits these criteria, please have them provide a cover letter describing their relevant experience, a curriculum vitae, and a short research summary of their work to stephen.fesik@vanderbilt.edu

If you know of a colleague that may have an interested student, please feel free to forward this contact info to them as well.

Sincerely,
Steve
