Please add to your calendars a special seminar by Janet Thornton: "The Evolution of Enzyme Mechanisms and Functional Diversity" Thursday, December 5th, 2013 3:00 – 4:00 PM Genentech Hall Auditorium Professor Dame Janet Thornton is the Director of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory — European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI). She has been a leader in computational biology and bioinformatics throughout her career and has be awarded many honors, among them her election as a Fellow of the Royal Society and as a foreign associate of the National Academy of Sciences.
From her biography on Wikipedia, she is rightfully described as "one of the world’s leading researchers in structural bioinformatics, using computational methods to understand protein structure and function."
