[cid:image003.jpg@01D1E728.1FE9F730] However when I install chimera on a virtual PC, this function does not work. Any ideas on how to get around this issue? thanks John Dixon Application Integration Team Client Platform Services Information Services Division, UCL Tel: 02076799163 Ext: 09163
Hi, John. It sounds like Chimera is not getting the CTRL part of your CTRL-click. That would depend on how your virtual machine is handling mouse events. For example, some VMs like Parallels and VMware use control-click to emulate a right-mouse-click. You should check the preferences/options for your VM to see if there is anything that lets you select how mouse events should be processed. Conrad

Hi John, I bet your virtual PC has only the Microscoft GDI graphics driver supporting OpenGL 1.1 from 1997 — that graphics driver has so few capabilities Chimera can’t select atoms. You will need a better graphics driver for ctrl-click to select atoms. You can check which graphics driver Chimera is using using Chimera menu entry Help / Report a Bug… in the “Gathered Information” field. Tom
