Hi, I have found on the MODELLER web page that Chimera has a Modeller interface in the latest nightly builds. Is it right? and is it possible to use it? Thanks a lot, Domenico. .............................................................................................................. Hi Domenico, Yes, we are pleased to announce this feature -- it is only in the very latest daily builds, I believe dated Sept 14 and newer. <http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/download.html#daily> You will need to get Modeller separately from the Sali website, but once it is installed you will be able to run it from Chimera. Here's the documentation, which is also included with the build: <http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/ContributedSoftware/multalignviewer/mul...> <http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/ContributedSoftware/multalignviewer/mod...> Best Elaine ----- Elaine C. We also anticipate offering an interface that doesn't require a local Modeller installation (via a web service), though registration at the Modeller web site would still be required. That feature could be a month off or could be several months off, depending on how difficult the implementation turns out to be. --Eric Eric Pettersen UCSF Computer Graphics Lab http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu On Sep 17, 2010, at 10:19 AM, Elaine Meng wrote:

Hi Domenico, How to show the MODELLER interface is described in those documentation links I sent.
Here's the documentation, which is also included with the build:
<http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/ContributedSoftware/multalignviewer/mul...> <http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/ContributedSoftware/multalignviewer/mod...>
To summarize, you would start it from the Structure menu in Multalign Viewer, the dialog that shows sequence alignments. IThe top link above describes how to get a sequence alignment if you don't have one already. However, it is also possible that you didn't get a new enough daily build. Earlier today one of the Mac builds in that table was older than that date, but I see that some more builds have now become available, and now all are new enough (Sept 17 for all platforms):
