I am trying to figure out how to add labels to a figure in chimeraX. It was easy in the older Chimera using 2d labels but I can’t find a similar function in chimeraX and the website seems to be down so I can’t access documentation. Any direction for how I can do this? I’m wanting to add residue labels to some specific residue (catalytic and substrate binding site residues) I want to point out in a paper Thanks Sent from my iPhone

Hi Rob, The website is back up now (our e-mail was down at the same time so we couldn't see questions until this morning). Although ChimeraX does not yet have a 2D Labels GUI, there is a "2dlabels" command as well as a mouse mode for moving the labels and arrow endpoints interactively. We are planning to have a GUI for 2D Labels, but I do not know the ETA. Here is the help for ChimeraX 2dlabels, along with an image and example session: <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/commands/2dlabels.html> There are also examples in combination with color keys in these tutorials (just look at the 2dlabel part if you don't need a color key): <https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/tutorials/binding-sites.html#esp> <https://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/data/conservation-coloring/conservation-c...> <https://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/gallery.html#bfactor> I hope this helps, Elaine ----- Elaine C.
