The position is for four years and includes competitive salary (>$80k gross) and benefits - you can find more details here <https://www.gene.com/careers/university-and-early-career/postdocs>. Broadly speaking, in my lab we leverage AI methods to understand -omic data, with focus on scRNA-seq, *ISH, and spatial transcriptomics. Some topics of interest include identifying cell cell communication mechanisms, revealing spatial co-localization of cell types or gene programs, and predicting the outcome of perturbation assays. We address these topics using modern machine learning methods, such as training a convolutional neural network for extracting features from images, learning a latent representation for harmonizing different data modalities, using gradient boosting to forecast biological responses from medical records and so forth. My lab is within Research Biology in Genentech which is *very* academic-like. Our environment is ideal either for landing an academic professorship or an industry job. I would be delighted to provide more information about how life is in Genentech. The interested candidates can apply here <https://www.gene.com/careers/detail/202102-103783/Postdoctoral-Fellow-Artifi...>. Feel free to drop me a message so that I am aware of your application.
