Cannot click popup windows in ChimeraX WSL installation
Hi All,I am unable to click on any popup windows in my chimeraX installation. For eg: colour menu, once popped up, unable to click on any options.Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS installed under WSL in Dell laptop. ChimeraX ver 1.9Error messages:NOTE: available bundle cache has not been initialized yetmalloc(): unsorted double linked list corruptedAborted (core dumped) Any suggestions.Thank you.Jobi
Not sure what to say. Use the Windows version? There is also a chance that the daily build will work because it uses a newer version of the Qt user interface toolkit. Yes unfortunately one of two things is happening: either Qt's Wayland support still isn't good enough to support the kinds of dialogs we use for tools, or Microsoft's WSLg uses a Wayland compositor that doesn't support whatever Qt on Wayland uses to move child windows. I’m not aware of any, but I always test WSL when new Qt versions come out. I’m as excited to get it working on WSL as you are to use it — death to dual booting. I see you have an open ticket for a WSL crash, #16791. I won’t take ownership from Greg but I will bookmark it so I can provide updates as I have them. — Zach

Hi Jobi, I just wanted to follow up with you to say that I tried ChimeraX on Wayland on my Linux installation (Gentoo, Hyprland, nVidia drivers) and floating windows work fine. I suspect bare metal Ubuntu would work as well. I think there’s something lacking in the Wayland compositor Microsoft chose to use for WSLg. For completeness, I’ll install PySide6 into a Windows WSL ChimeraX and see if that does anything. — Zach
