Double and Triple Bond Stick Style

Dear ChimeraX, I was just wondering why there is no way to represent a double or triple bond in either the ligands or the protein amino acids when viewing as a Stick or Ball-and-Stick representation? I sometimes use Chimera or ChimeraX to make visuals for my lectures, and the students often have difficulty in understanding due to the absence of the multiple bonds. I would love to have the ability to represent the double or triple bonds with multiple lines between the atoms. Thank you, Chase Smith ... Quest 2 Support?

Hello, my name is Blaine Hewitt. Now I know that you have stated previously that you have no intention of bringing support to the Oculus Quest. Which is completely understandable since I know that not only would you have to develop around a completely new Operating System but another CPU architecture and much much more I assume. But with the soon release of the Oculus Quest 2 and it's new XR 2 chip-set makes a pretty good argument for it. As this would allow for much easier use in education (as is what I am attempting to do with it). I think it will be even easier now to push updates with SideQuest <https://sidequestvr.com/> being relatively simple to setup. I know that another (Naome <https://blog.matryx.ai/nanome-on-quest-public-beta-is-now-available-b546321…>) program is already available on the platform. But I do like your program a lot more since it is able to be used for free unlike Nanome Pricing <https://nanome.ai/pricing/> which is... as to say unappealing to public schools (such as mine). I was was also thinking (sorry if I am becoming annoying at this point) that if you do make a version of the Quest that you could make that GitHub branch available to the public. As for example while I may not be great at understanding complex protein structures I can help to make the whole experience more user friendly. Anyways if you read this far thank you for taking time from your day to read this. I have to do a project by the end of the year where I have to present an area of study I want to pursue and I decided to research the effects of VR on the human's ability to learn and retain information. Apple silicon (M1 chip) native version?

Are there any plans for an Apple Silicon (M1 chip) native version of ChimeraX? Next/previous buttons?

Hi, The Next/Previous buttons in original Chimera, combined with the capacity to lock the display status of one model (using the "Skip") checkboxes, are really useful when comparing multiple maps (particularly multiple aligned maps with a single atomic model), and I really miss this functionality in ChimeraX... would it be possible to add it to the (diminishing!) list of features to port over? Cheers Oli PS My mind was blown yesterday when I found out that ChimeraX has (universal?) undo/redo bound to hotkeys! Would it be possible to add the option of user defined hotkeys...? E.g. for invoking a custom function, style, lighting etc?

crossfade command not working from a command file

Hello, I am using ChimeraX version 1.2.5 (2021-05-24) on macOS 10.15.7. When trying to generate a simple movie with the attached command file, I get the attached wrong result in which the crossfade command seems to fail (instead of a smooth transition, I only get a flashing black screen for a few frames). A similar problem happens with the same version of ChimeraX on Rocky Linux 8.4. Instead of loading the command file from a fresh session (with 'open command-file.cxc'), I tried to prepare my models first, and then sent the commands generating the movie all at once (separated by semi-colons). When I did it this way, I got the correct result (also attached). Is there anything I am doing wrong, or is this a bug? I am pretty sure the command file version worked correctly in a previous version of ChimeraX, because I have done this before. Unfortunately, I don’t remember which version it was (but probably 1.1, since it was just last year). I would appreciate any help with this. Tiling images are stepped

Hi, I want to create an image of multiple volumes that are tiled horizontally. However, when I run the command "tile columns 6" the volumes get arranged in a step-like manner (attached image). I do not see this happen in chimera so I am wondering if this expected behaviour in ChimeraX? I am on UCSF ChimeraX version: 1.2.5 (2021-05-24) on the M1 MacBookPro, MacOS 11.6. Syncing up the movement of "plane" volumes.

Hi ChimeraX community. I have a reconstructed tomogram which has 92 ‘Z’ slices, and a segmentation volume that has ‘374’ slices. They are both displayed as “Plane” in the volume viewer (image attached). I would like to record a movie where they are showing the same features simultaneously. I have used the command: “volume #5 planes z,0,92; volume #2 planes z,0,374 ; wait 120 ; “ However, the volumes do not move at the same time: volume 5 completes before volume 2 begins. Is there a way around this, so that I can play both volumes at the same time? Thank you for any tips! Megan

adding new trajectory format
